Oregon Marijuana Taxes

To date, Oregon’s 2016 tax reports, which include sales from January through July, show that the state has already collected $25.5 million from recreational marijuana sales tax. Third quarter reports were to be completed by August 1st and should be released soon. The state is receiving more revenue than initially projected.

Medical marijuana dispensaries are the only establishments permitted to sell recreational marijuana in Oregon, reports the The Washington Post. Finalization of Oregon’s updated recreational marijuana rules should take place by 2017.

The projected revenue through June 2017 was originally $8.4 million. That figure has blossomed to the state’s delight.
