Court Rules Grants Pass Residents Still Can’t Grow Marijuana Outdoors

Canna

Grants Pass residents can cultivate marijuana themselves, but it has to remain indoors. The Oregon Court of Appeals confirmed the ordinance banning outdoor cultivation. The Grants Pass City Council implemented the ban shortly following recreational legalization.

Rycke Brown, a marijuana activist, argues that the ordinance is conflicting with state law prohibiting local government interference with production and plant seed use, according to OPB.org.  The Appeals Court says that marijuana plants are not applicable with that ordinance.

There are no appeals or challenges to the ruling planned at this time.
